| Introduction
and Aims of the course
Mass culture, the new information technologies, the growth of the non-conventional
ways of participation in public life, etc. have created the need of effective
professional specialisation in the scopes of political communication and
institutional relations. Due to its transversal, multidisciplinary and
constantly changing character, this specialisation demands a very specific
programme, and generally, the communication Studies and the Political
Studies do not assume this programme in its complexity.
The main aim of this course is to fill this gap. It will offer a group
of operative tools (practical and theoretical) to those people that work
-or would like to- within the scope of political and institutional communication.
As can be gathered from the syllabus, this postgraduate course tries to
balance both levels. This is the reason why we have the participation
of teachers from university teaching and political communication research.
We will also have the participation of professionals from this field in
active service.
